Alloy 800 is an austenitic iron-nickel-chromium alloy. Its characteristics include:
● Good corrosion resistance
● Excellent mechanical properties at temperatures below 800°C
● Good oxidation, reduction, and nitridation resistance at temperatures below 800°C
● Excellent workability
Alloy 800 is suitable for various corrosive environments. In wet corrosion environments, the increased nickel and chromium content in the material enhances its resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. The alloy exhibits good corrosion resistance in nitric acid and organic acids, but has relatively poor resistance to sulfuric and hydrochloric acids. In halide acids, the material can experience pitting corrosion. It has good corrosion resistance in oxidizing salt solutions, reducing salt solutions, as well as in water, steam, and mixed gases (steam, air, and carbon dioxide). At higher temperatures, Alloy 800 has excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing and carburizing environments. The material also has good corrosion resistance in hydrogen, nitrogen, and sulfur-containing gases, although its corrosion resistance is better in oxidizing environments than in reducing environments.
Alloy 800 can be applied in the chemical, energy, and environmental technology industries. Its specific application areas include:
● Sheathed heating elements
● Acetic anhydride cracking furnaces
If you require a material with enhanced resistance to wet corrosion, we recommend Alloy 800 L. For environments with temperatures above 600°C, you can consider the solution-annealed Alloy 800 H.

Alloy 800H is an austenitic iron-nickel-chromium high-temperature alloy. Through a special solution annealing process, the material has a grain size exceeding 90 μm (ASTM No. 4), which provides it with high creep rupture strength at temperatures above 600°C.
Additionally, Alloy 800H is characterized by:
● Good oxidation, nitridation, and carburization resistance
● Excellent metallurgical stability under long-term high-temperature exposure

Alloy 800HT is an austenitic iron-nickel-chromium high-temperature alloy. Compared to Alloy 800H, this material has a higher aluminum and titanium content. Through a special solution annealing process, the grain size of Alloy 800HT exceeds 90 μm (ASTM No. 4). Due to the precipitation of titanium carbides, the material has the maximum creep rupture strength at temperatures above 700°C. At temperatures below 700°C, the material exhibits lower ductility and the formation of the γ' phase.
The key features of Alloy 800HT include:
● Excellent creep resistance at temperatures above 700°C
● Good corrosion resistance in reducing, oxidizing, and nitriding environments
● Good corrosion resistance in alternating reducing and oxidizing environments
● Excellent metallurgical stability under long-term high-temperature exposure
Both Alloy 800H and Alloy 800HT have excellent resistance to hydrogen embrittlement, making them suitable for hydrogen production and steam/hydrocarbon reforming. Additionally, due to their superior carburization and nitridation resistance, they are also applied in polyethylene pyrolysis, as well as in the production of acetic anhydride and ketones equipment.
These two materials have wide applications in furnace production, the chemical industry, environmental facilities, automotive manufacturing, and the energy sector, specifically in various heat treatment systems and combustion equipment.
