Shanghai COCESS Special Alloys Co., Ltd.​ is a professional supplier of high-performance nickel-base and cobalt-base superalloys, offering Nimonic 90 (UNS N07090 / W.Nr. 2.4632 / China Grade GH4090 / GH90)​ in round bar, forged billet/ring, limited plate/sheet, and spring wire. All material is supplied in the solution-annealed (SA) condition​ with full traceability, PMI verification, and EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 Mill Test Report​ including heat analysis (verifying Ni/Cr/Co/Ti/Al), tensile results, and heat treatment record.

Nimonic 90 is a γ′-precipitation hardened Ni–Cr–Co–Ti–Al superalloy​ (nominal Ni–19.5Cr–18Co–2.6Ti–1.5Al, Al+Ti ≈ 3.8–4.8 wt%) qualified to BS HR 1 (Bar/Forging/Wire)​ and cross-referenced to AMS 5829. It is engineered for 650–870°C (1200–1600°F) creep-resistant rotating or stressed parts​ — turbine blades (small engines / legacy designs), nozzle guide vanes (NGVs), high-temperature springs, lock rings, and hot-section fasteners — and is not intended for large thin-walled welded fabrications​ (use Nimonic 263 for combustor liners).

2.1 Round Bar (Black / Rough Turned / Centerless Ground)

  • Diameter: Φ8 mm – Φ300 mm​ (black / as-forged); Φ10–Φ100 mm precision ground (h7/h9, Ra ≤ 1.6 µm)

  • Length: 1000–6000 mm; random or cut-to-length

  • Condition: Solution annealed (1080–1150°C → oil/water quench), soft for machining / pre-form

2.2 Forging Billet / Block / Ring

  • Shape: Round billets, square/rectangular blocks, seamless rolled rings (OD up to 800 mm subject to ratio)

  • Forgeable stock: typically Φ150–Φ500 mm dia. billet

  • Condition: As-forged + solution annealed, or solution annealed only (customer final ages)

  • Custom near-net pre-forms: rough turned / pre-drilled / contoured per drawing

2.3 Plate / Sheet (Limited Availability / Made-to-Order)

  • Thickness: 6.0 mm – 40 mm​ (plate); 0.8–4.0 mm sheet on indent basis

  • Width × Length: 200×600 mm up to 1000×3000 mm (depending on thickness)

  • Condition: Solution annealed, descaled + pickled or bright annealed

  • Note: Large welded sheet-metal fabrications normally specify Nimonic 263 (N07263)​ — we stock both and can advise substitution.

2.4 Spring Wire / Precision Wire

  • Diameter: Φ0.30 mm – Φ8.0 mm

  • Condition: Annealed (soft) for customer aging; or Cold-Drawn + Pre-Aged (UTS 1300–1600 MPa, "spring temper")

  • Application: Valve springs, lock rings, governor springs (400–600°C design temp.)

2.5 Welding Consumables

  • Filler Wire: matching N07090 or ERNiCr-3 (AWS A5.14), diameters 0.8 / 1.2 / 1.6 / 2.4 mm

  • Covered Electrode: ENiCrWMo (on request)

Custom non-standard dimensions, oversize forgings, and machined pre-forms (rough-turned / pre-profiled) are available with lead-time quotation.


3. Material Condition & Melting Practice

  • Melting Route:​ Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) + Electro-Slag Remelting (ESR) — guarantees low S/P (S ≤ 0.008 % typical), tight Ti (2.2–3.0 %) and Al (1.0–2.0 %) control, homogeneous γ′ precipitate potential.

  • Delivery Condition:​ Solution annealed (1080–1150°C, soak per section → oil or water quench).

    Nimonic 90 requires post-machining / post-forging double-ageing​ by the customer:

    • 1st stage: 700–750°C × 16 h / AC or FC

    • 2nd stage: 650°C × 16 h / AC

    • (Single-stage 700°C × 24 h is possible but sub-optimal for max. stress-rupture.)

  • Grain Size (Typical):​ ASTM 3–6 (forging stock / bar)

  • Surface Options:

    • Bar: Black (as-forged), Rough turned (peeled), or Centerless ground

    • Plate/Sheet: Descaled + pickled / Bright annealed

    • Wire: Soap-coated / bright / cleaned
