Incoloy 20 (UNS N08020) — Key Specifications
Incoloy 20 is a niobium-stabilized austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy with 3–4% Cu and 2–3% Mo. The Cu provides strong resistance to hot sulfuric acid; the Nb ties up carbon to prevent intergranular corrosion after welding. It offers better corrosion performance than 316L stainless at a lower cost than C276, making it the standard choice for sulfuric/phosphoric acid service.

Corrosion advantages:
Excellent in sulfuric acid (10–80%, particularly 20–40% boiling range with oxidizers present)
Good resistance to phosphoric acid, nitric acid and chloride pitting/crevice corrosion
Highly resistant to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC) due to >32% Ni
Weldable with ERNiCrMo-3 (Inconel 625 type) filler; Nb-stabilized — as-welded condition usually acceptable
