Professional custom Inconel 690 fabrication, cutting, machining and processing. Meet personalized industrial component demands.
Inconel 690 (UNS N06690) is a high-chromium, solid-solution strengthened nickel alloy with excellent ductility in the annealed condition—yet its work-hardening rate is high, and improper cutting parameters will quickly ruin tool life or cause edge tearing. For fabricators of steam generator tube sheets, nitric acid plant liners, and caustic-evaporator components, buying raw plate or tube is often not enough. Shanghai COCESS Special Alloys Co., Ltd provides professional pre-processing and light fabrication services on Inconel 690 stock: CNC/water-jet/plasma cutting, tube/precision bar cut-to-length, tube-end chamfering, plate drilling (including tube-sheet pattern drilling), rough turning of forged blanks, and surface pickling/passivation—all performed in-house to reduce your scrap, handling time, and inbound logistics cost.

Material Behavior Notes for Inconel 690 Machining
Understanding the alloy’s characteristics helps define realistic tolerances and costs:
Work-Hardening Tendency: Like other Ni-Cr-Fe alloys, Inconel 690 work-hardens rapidly if the tool rubs rather than cuts. We use rigid setups, sharp carbide inserts, low RPM / high feed strategy to stay below the hardened layer.
High Ductility & Toughness: Elongation ≥ 35% means burr formation on punched/sheared edges—deburring is always included in our scope.
Solution-Annealed Softness: Typical hardness ≤ 100 HRB allows easier forming (e.g., tube U-bending) but requires firm clamping to avoid part shift during machining.
Thermal Conductivity: Relatively low (~12.8 W/m·K at RT), so heat concentrates at the cutting edge—we use flood coolant or air blast as appropriate.

Typical Custom Fabrication Examples
Steam Generator Tube Sheet Blank:
Start with N06690 plate (thk 50–150 mm), water-jet cut to round/rectangular outline → drill tube-hole pattern (staggered triangular pitch per dwg) → chamfer both faces → UT inspection → pickle/passivate → ship with MTR.
Heat Exchanger Tube Prepared for Welding:
Seamless N06690 tube cut to finished length → both ends beveled (37° or J-type) → Eddy Current tested → plug/cap → pack.
Liner Panel for Nitric Acid Tank:
Plate water-jet cut to development shape → edge bevel for field weld prep → number/stamp traceability → export crate.
Forged Disc Pre-Form:
Open-die forged billet → rough turn O.D./I.D./faces to pre-form dims → layout balance holes (if required) → UT + MT → ship.
Quality & Traceability
All processed parts retain full traceability to the original melt:
Base Material Certification: EN 10204 3.1 (or 3.2 on request) covering heat analysis and mechanical tests.
Inspection Report: Dimensional inspection record (hole positions, lengths, diameters) issued per order.
NDE (Optional): UT on plate before cutting; MT/PT on forged pre-forms; 100% ET on tubes prior to end-prep.
Marking: Material grade, heat number, and part number etched or stamped (low-stress) on non-machined surfaces.
Packaging: Seaworthy export crating with VCI interleaving for plates; foam-wrapped tube bundles; custom wooden skids for heavy parts.
How to Request a Fabrication Quote
Please provide:
