Custom Processing Service for Inconel X-750 Industrial Components

14:43:56 05/26/2026

Inconel X-750 (UNS N07750 / W.Nr. 2.4669) is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium-iron superalloy strengthened by gamma prime [γ′—Ni₃(Al, Ti, Nb)] phase precipitation. Unlike simple bar or plate supply, many critical end-use parts—such as turbine locking pins, high-temperature fasteners, die-formed springs, and machined flanges—require close-tolerance cutting, rough/finish machining, precision heat treatment, and sometimes custom forging. Shanghai COCESS Special Alloys Co., Ltd provides comprehensive custom processing services for Inconel X-750 industrial components, transforming raw stock into near-net-shape or finished parts with full metallurgical traceability.

Inconel X-750 Baseline Data for Process Control

Proper custom processing of X-750 demands strict adherence to its metallurgical windows:

  • Chemical Composition (wt.%): Ni ≥ 70.0, Cr 14.0–17.0, Fe 5.0–9.0, Ti 2.25–2.75, Al 0.40–1.00, Nb+Ta 0.70–1.20, C ≤ 0.08, S ≤ 0.010.

  • Target Mechanical (Aged): Tensile Rm ≥ 1138 MPa, Yield Rp0.2 ≥ 965 MPa (typical 800–1050 MPa), Elongation ≥ 15–20%, Hardness HRC 32–38.

  • Heat Treatment Windows:

    • Solution Treat: 1093–1150°C, rapid quench (water or air cool depending on section) to dissolve γ′ and carbides.

    • Stabilization (optional for max creep): 843–871°C × 2–24h, air cool.

    • Aging (Precipitation Hardening): 704–732°C × 8–20h + optionally 618–649°C × 8h, air cool. Final properties are highly sensitive to soak time/temperature—over-aging coarsens γ′ and reduces strength.

  • Machining Caution: X-750 work-hardens rapidly, especially in the aged condition. We recommend machining in the solution-treated (soft) state whenever possible, using rigid setups, sharp carbide inserts, low speed with positive rake, and flood coolant to avoid work-hardening the surface layer.

Custom Cutting & Plate/Bar Processing

To minimize your in-house scrap and setup time, Shanghai COCESS Special Alloys Co., Ltd offers:

  • Plate & Sheet Cutting: CNC Waterjet, Plasma, or Laser cutting to custom rectangular/irregular profiles (e.g., spring blank outlines, flange gaskets, seal plates). Tolerances are held per customer drawing; minimal HAZ ensures the base metal remains suitable for subsequent forming/heat treatment.

  • Bar & Forging Saw Cutting: Precision band-saw or circular saw cutting of round bars and forged blocks to specified lengths (e.g., ±0.5mm tolerance), with square-end and deburring services.

  • Surface Preparation: Plate surfaces can be supplied pickled (1D), bright annealed (2B), or with light grind. Bars available as black (hot rolled), peeled (turned), or centerless ground for improved concentricity prior to CNC machining.

Custom Forging & Rough Machining Service

For components requiring grain flow control and higher integrity than stock removal alone can provide:

  • Open-Die Forgings: Blocks, shafts, and stepped shafts up to large diameters, forged at 1095–1150°C with final forge temperature ≥ 955°C to prevent cracking. Post-forge solution treatment is standard; aging per AMS 5668/5669 available upon request.

  • Seamless Rolled Rings: Up to approx. Ø500–1200mm OD (depending on cross-section), for flanges, casing rings, or bearing seats requiring circumferential grain alignment.

  • Closed-Die / Pre-form Forgings: For turbine disk pre-forms, lock pin heads, or specialized high-temp fastener blanks. Dies can be customer-provided or jointly developed.

  • Rough Machining: Removal of forging draft/scale to leave finish-allowance stock (typically 1–3mm per side), reducing your machine time and tool wear. All rough-machined parts retain enough material for final dimensioning after any post-machining aging.

Component Heat Treatment & Spring Coiling Support

  • Production Heat Treatment: In-house furnaces capable of precise solution + stabilization + dual-age cycles per ASTM B637 / AMS 5667–5669. Atmospheres are controlled (low sulfur, neutral/reducing) to prevent surface contamination.

  • Spring / Elastic Element Processing: For custom Inconel X-750 springs (compression, extension, Belleville washers), we provide coiling from certified wire stock, stress-relief, full solution + age, and load-deflection testing to print specification.

  • Dimensional & NDT Verification: Final or in-process inspection includes hardness testing (HRC), ultrasonic testing (UT per ASTM A388 for forgings), dye penetrant (PT) if specified, and full dimensional layout reporting.

Quality Assurance & Applicable Standards

All custom-processed Inconel X-750 components from Shanghai COCESS Special Alloys Co., Ltd are shipped with:

  • EN 10204 3.1 MTC referencing the original heat number of the parent stock, verified chemistry, and mechanical properties (pre- or post-processing as agreed).

  • In-Process Records: Heat treatment charts (time-temperature curves), dimensional inspection reports, and any requested NDT reports.

  • Standard Compliance: Base material and processing aligned with ASTM B637, AMS 5667/5668/5669 (bar/forging), AMS 5542/5598 (plate/sheet), AMS 5698/5699 (wire).

  • Third-Party Inspection: We accommodate SGS, TUV, BV, or client-appointed inspectors at our facility.
