(We supply high purity Inconel 617 bars, sheets, seamless pipes and custom forgings, complete with MTC test reports and fast global shipping.)
Inconel 617 (UNS N06617 / W.Nr. 2.4663) is a solid-solution strengthened nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum superalloy, specifically engineered for extreme thermal environments up to 1100°C–1200°C. Its unique chemistry, featuring 10.0%–15.0% Cobalt and 0.8%–1.5% Aluminum, delivers exceptional high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and oxidation stability. Shanghai COCESS Special Alloys Co., Ltd operates as a reliable manufacturer and supplier, providing certified Inconel 617 Bars, Plates, Tubes, and Forgings with precise dimensional control and full material traceability for global high-heat industries.

Key Chemical Composition & High-Temp Performance
The alloy’s performance is rooted in its balanced solid-solution strengthening elements:
Chemical Composition (%): Ni Balance (≥44.5), Cr 20.0–24.0, Co 10.0–15.0, Mo 8.0–10.0, Al 0.8–1.5, Fe ≤3.0, C 0.05–0.15, Ti ≤0.6. The high Co content enhances high-temperature thermal stability and creep rupture strength, while Al aids in forming a tenacious, self-healing Cr₂O₃/Al₂O₃ oxide scale.
Physical & Mechanical Data: Density 8.36 g/cm³; Melting Range 1330–1380°C. In the solution-annealed condition, Room Temp Tensile Strength (Rm) ≥ 690 MPa (typical 730–830 MPa), Yield Strength (Rp0.2) ≥ 280 MPa (typical 310–380 MPa), Elongation ≥ 30–40%. It retains significant strength at heat, e.g., Tensile Strength approx. 300–400 MPa at 1000°C, with excellent creep-rupture performance (e.g., 1000-hour rupture strength around 16–45 MPa depending on temperature between 980–1095°C).
Oxidation/Carburization: Demonstrates exceptional resistance to cyclic oxidation and carburization at 1100°C+, making it superior to many standard nickel-chrome alloys in petrochemical cracking or heat treatment atmospheres.
Standard Product Forms & Supply Specifications
Shanghai COCESS Special Alloys Co., Ltd supplies Inconel 617 in strict accordance with major ASTM / ASME and Aerospace standards:
Bars & Rods (ASTM B166 / ASME SB-166, AMS 5887): Supplied in Hot Rolled / Forged rounds (Diameters e.g., 10mm–300mm+), Cold Drawn bars (e.g., 2mm–80mm), and custom machined blanks. Provided in solution-annealed condition, with options for peel-turned or ground finishes (UT tested per ASTM A388 upon request).
Plates, Sheets & Coils (ASTM B168 / ASME SB-168, AMS 5888/5889): Coverage from thin gauges (0.5mm/0.1mm foil up to 50mm+ heavy plates). Typical widths 1000mm–2000mm, lengths 2000mm–6000mm. Surfaces include Mill Finish, Pickled (1D), or Bright Annealed (2B), optimized for high-temp fabrication with minimal scaling.
Tubes (Seamless: ASTM B167 / B829; Welded: ASTM B546 / B619): Seamless tubes for heat exchangers (OD 6mm–273mm, Wall 0.5mm–20mm); Welded pipes for larger process lines (OD 50mm–1500mm+, Wall 1.0mm–30mm). All are solution-treated to ensure structural stability at 1100°C.
Forgings & Flanges (ASTM B564 / ASME SB-564): Open-die forgings, rings, blocks, and custom-shaped pre-forms for gas turbine components, furnace hardware, and reactor internals, ensuring refined grain structure for creep resistance.
Industrial Applications & Manufacturing Reliability
Our Inconel 617 products are engineered for:
Aerospace & Gas Turbines: Combustion cans, transition liners, ducting, and afterburner components requiring 1100°C+ oxidation resistance and creep strength.
Thermal Processing: Radiant tubes, muffle furnaces, sintering trays, and furnace rollers where resistance to cyclic oxidation and carburization at 1000°C–1200°C prevents premature scaling or distortion.
Energy & Petrochemical: Ethylene pyrolysis furnace hangers, reformer internals, High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor (HTGR) heat exchangers, and nitric acid catalyst grid supports.
Quality Assurance & Supply Chain Advantage
As a direct manufacturer, Shanghai COCESS Special Alloys Co., Ltd ensures:
Full Traceability: Every shipment includes an EN 10204 3.1 Material Test Certificate (MTC) detailing Heat Number, full Chemical Analysis, Room Temp and relevant High-Temp Mechanical Properties.
Process Control: Strict adherence to solution annealing (approx. 1150°C–1230°C) ensures the alloy is in the optimal metallurgical state for high-heat service. We offer value-added cutting (Waterjet/Plasma), rough machining, and can advise on welding (using ERNiCrCoMo-1 filler) and hot working parameters (working range 1120°C–1205°C).
Global Logistics: Robust export packaging and support for third-party inspection (SGS, TUV, BV) to meet international project requirements.
