Nickel 201, also known as Ni 201, Alloy 201, UNS N02201, and W.Nr. 2.4068, is a commercially pure wrought nickel alloy that is similar to Nickel 200 but has a lower carbon content, which results in improved resistance to oxidizing chemicals and high-temperature sulfur compounds. It offers exceptional corrosion resistance in reducing environments and has high thermal and electrical conductivity. Nickel 201 is often used in the chemical and electronic industries, as well as in various applications where resistance to caustic alkalis is required.
Nickel 201 is preferred to Nickel 200 for use attemperatures above 315 °C (600 °F). It can be used in dry chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride in temperatures of up to 550°C (1,022°F).
