Hastelloy B-3, also known as Alloy B-3, with the UNS designation N10675 and W. Nr. 2.4600, is a nickel-molybdenum alloy known for its excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. It also offers exceptional resistance to other reducing chemicals such as sulfuric, acetic, and phosphoric acids. Hastelloy B-3 is particularly well-suited for equipment handling reducing chemical environments. This alloy has a high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and provides good resistance to pitting and corrosion fatigue. It is commonly used in chemical processing, pollution control, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in applications where resistance to corrosion in harsh environments is essential.
